Faith Community Church Core Beliefs

We are a body of Christians who follow the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. Our faith is in Him. We believe that the Bible is the living and true Word of God. It is the account of God's faithfulness and love for all of us. It is inspired, inerrant, infallible and the authoritative Word for all matters of life, faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the Cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in glory. (Philippians 2-5-7; John 14:9; John 8:58; John 1:1, 14; 2 Cor. 5:6-10.)

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. The saved are raised to eternal life with God in heaven. The lost are raised to be eternally separated from God in hell. (Heb. 9:27; 2 Thess.1:8-9; Rev. 20:15; 2 Cor. 5:6-10)

We believe in the present authority of the Holy Spirit. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and serving. (Acts 2:38; Acts 1:8; John 14:15-18; John 16:5-15)

We believe that God instituted marriage. We believe that marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman, that God's intent for marriage is to last for a lifetime, and that marriage represents Christ and the church. We believe that any and all sexual relations outside the bonds of marriage are contrary to scripture. (Gen. 2:24; Lev. 18:22-23; 1 Cor. 6:9-10) Because of this belief, we do not perform or endorse same-sex wedding ceremonies.

We believe that families are to be valued and that children are a gift from God. We therefore believe in the protection of children and life itself, from the time of conception until the time of natural death. (Psalm 139:13-16)
