ADDITIONAL WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE HELPS ACCOMMODATE PEOPLE AMIDST GROWING CHURCH

Faith Community Church, located between Powell and Cody, often called the

“Little Red Church on the Hill”, continues to offer a church service each

Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. This evening service is in addition to two Sunday

morning services; one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 10:00 a.m.

The non-denominational Christian church, which can be seen from the

Powell/Cody Highway on the North side, was established at the location just

across from Eagle’s Nest in 2012.

“Having three services available to our communities allows people to physically

spread out if they choose to, as well as offering time options that suit more of our

population,” says Pastor Dave Seratt.

Regarding the requirement of masks, Seratt says they are not required. “If

someone chooses to wear a mask, that’s fine, and if they don’t, that’s OK too. We

realize this is an unprecedented time, and we are certainly cautious. We don’t go

around shaking everyone’s hand, and we do maintain reasonable distances from

one another. We have asked people not to attend church if they are ill, of course.

We want to respect people’s comfort levels and just have a place where we can

worship together.”

The church has seen amazing growth over the past 2 ½ years, growing from about

75 people on an average Sunday to about 150 attending the 3 services. “Over 200

people call Faith Community Church their ‘church home,’” Seratt adds. “This

growth has led to the membership agreeing that it’s time to build on.” The church

is in the midst of beginning an expansion project focused on a Christian education

area (classrooms for kids) and additional space for fellowship.
